Pine Bluff, 1976 — Arkansas Memory Archive

A signature work from the Arkansas Memory Archive by JRoby.

Based on a childhood memory from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, this piece captures the freedom, imagination, and fearlessness of youth. A young boy hurdles a long yellow Cadillac on a neighborhood street, transforming an ordinary afternoon into legend.

Presented as a recovered artifact, the work combines personal history, Southern memory, and visual storytelling to preserve moments that often disappear from the historical record.

Part of the ongoing JRoby exploration of Black American memory, Arkansas culture, and future archaeology.
